Invent Montana supports MT students with Invention Convention is where K-12 the Independent Inventor Program (IP) innovators, inventors, and entrepreneurs participation and curriculum. Top students get their start. Let your mind wander and have a chance to compete at a virtual multi-state competition, with the winners advancing to the Invention Convention US Nationals (ICUSN) 2024 in-person event at The Henry Ford. Students from all over the country gather to showcase their inventions at ICUSN.
Invention Convention is where K-12 innovators, inventors, and entrepreneurs get their start. Let your mind wander and your creativity expand. Anew bird feeder design, a creative puzzle, a more comfortable dog collar, an eco-friendly fuel source, a stronger material from plants, a brighter bike light, a lighter skateboard, an automatic pet door opener… and everything in between!

Important Dates:
- January 5 Montana sign-ups open. Email hello@inventmontana.org to learn more.
- January 22 Last day for students, parents, and teachers to sign up with Montana by emailing hello@inventmontana.org. Parents and teachers get acces s to free curriculum. Optional free virtual training available to support parents and teachers.
• February 1-March 10 Independent Inventor Program (IP) curriculum and projects made by students. Students create a display board, a short video, an invention log, and an invention prototype within their classroom or local community.
• March 10 Top Montana students escalate to the next stage: a spot in the multi-state IP Invention Convention. Scholarships available upon request to top students to cover registration tee.
• March 24 Deadline to upload materials to multi-state IIP competition website.
• March 27- April 8 Online judging for multi-state IP Invention Convention Competition.
• April 12 Multi-state IIP Top Inventions will be notified via email and announced via blog post on the IP webpage.
• June 5-7 Top students throughout US participate in person at Invention Convention U.S. Nationals 2024 at The Henry Ford.
